The combination of gemfibrozil (1200 milligrams (mg)/day) with pravastatin
(20 mg/day) or simvastatin (20 mg/day) produced superior overall improvement
in plasma levels of LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, fibrinogen, and HDL
cholesterol in patients with familial combined hyperlipidemia (Athyros et
al, 1997). No cases of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis occurred, but five
patients developed high transaminase levels necessitating withdrawal of
therapy. Close monitoring of patients for liver or muscle injury is
necessary when using gemfibrozil with an HMGCoA reductase inhibitor.

Hola a todos ,
hay un paciente que el médico le receta Zocor 10 mg ( Simvastitina) y
Gemfibrozilo 900 mg , són dos medicamentos que interaccionan y hay que
evitar la asociación. Estoy casi convencido que el médico sabe que le receta
estos dos medicamentos , que actuaciones se tendrian que hacer y como ?
